Picture description — A2 speaking practice
Describing pictures is one of the tasks in the speaking part of the A2 check: two pictures to describe in full sentences — people, actions, place, time. Practise it here with AI feedback.
Pick a picture and start practising — your description is assessed by AI:

The speaking part contains a task in which you describe two pictures. You are asked to name the people, what they are doing, the place and the time, and to answer in full sentences rather than single words.
How much you say matters as well as what. Use expressions of place (on, at, next to, on the left, on the right, in the background), name specific details rather than only the general topic. A one-phrase answer shows neither your vocabulary nor your fluency.
Remember why this matters: the check is passed only if each of the four skills separately reaches at least 9 points out of 15 (60 %). A weak speaking part is not offset by strong ones elsewhere.
How the AI-assisted practice works
Type your description or record it — speech is transcribed automatically. After you submit, you get feedback on task completion, language accuracy and vocabulary, plus a model answer.
We do not promise a point breakdown: the official programme publishes WHAT is assessed, not the marking bands. Practise against the task format and the required length instead. The practice is free and needs no account.
Frequently asked questions — picture description
What is the picture task in the A2 check?
A task in the speaking part where you describe two pictures: what is in them, what the people are doing, where it happens and when.
How long should the answer be?
Several full sentences per picture: people, place, actions, background. A single phrase shows neither vocabulary nor fluency.
How is the answer assessed here?
You get feedback on task completion, language accuracy and vocabulary, plus a model answer. It is practice feedback, not an official examination result.
Is the practice free?
Yes. The AI-assessed tasks work free of charge and without registration — you only confirm that you are not a robot. Signed-in users skip that check.
How should I prepare?
Practise on varied pictures, speak out loud, use expressions of place and topic vocabulary, then compare your answer with the model.
